Initial impact: this is rare site
Creativity: black swan stretching and doing a water yoga move
Color Harmony: nature
Center of Interest: black swan
Technical Excellence: expert
Technique: nature
Story Telling Ability: you said it all
Lighting: correct exposure
NOTICE TO ARTIST: I am a self taught Artist. I do not consider myself an expert; nor should you consider me one. I do write poetry. I have a sense of humor. I may have included either or both in this review. I use the following scale to determine star level. 6=Exceptional/Outstanding, 5.5=Professional level, 5=Expert, 4.5= Above Average, 4=Average, 3=Good Start, 2=Needs Work, 1=Poor. Your comments are greatly appreciated. Have a nice day?.Rainey.

Nice composition. Really like the business of the background and the different contrast of dark on light instead of light on dark. Good details.

What a pity. I feel this could have been quite an interesting picture However, it comes across, a being little cluttered with a busy background and this detracts on the viewing front. You are welcome to disagree. Robin

Thank you Robin, I appreciate your honest review very much. You are right, the background is a mess. The water was very dirty maybe do to a draught and water restrictions even for a zoo. That is the matter with journalistic photography, nothing I can do but show the truth. In a painting I would have changed the background to something more convenient but a journalistic photo has to show the truth. In this case what we do to our precious nature.

True...but a re-shoot with a plainer background would still help I feel as the swan is lost in this shot. Robin

Sure, it would look better but I can't do it. The location is to far from home. I was just visiting there. Were I live are no black swans. I posted the shot to hide my location because it's a blind contest.
