A nice shot. Your point of view is just about right and those foreground rocks are wonderfully placed. A good black and white image but lacking something somewhere I think. The burnt out sky not really a problem, the whole thing is nicely composed - it's just a bit flat maybe, sort of lacking depth. I might have burnt in the foreground a little to provide a lead in and the black and white conversion could maybe have been better. What did you use to convert? Pleasant though and that foreground is really really nice.

I understand this is for a B&W contest. so for that reason I know why you converted it. If it wasnt for the contest I would say this was not a good one to go B&W and the color one would be much more powerful.
The focus is great.
Your comp or angle being in the middle is good. The DOF for this type is good.
