Lovely portrait. You could pay someone a fortune to have a studio shot as good as this! Great pose, nice lighting and good natural expressions. Colours and focus are fab. Very well done

a strong portrait of family members. they both look natural, happy and a sense of being proud shines through the subjects. the clothes match and the brightness is effective against the darker background. all in all a special picture and one to remember for prosperity.

This is truly a nice portrait. It has good impact. I like that their shirts have the same colors. It gives the photo a very good balance. The image is crisp and clear and the use of light is really good. Very nice composition

Very nice portrait. I love the expressions. She is not a character, is she? She picked up a little more light than he did. I don't know if there is a way to equal that out. It causes her eyes to be more vibrant as well. The color is good. Almost wish they had worn different colors as the patterns seem to clash just a bit. The background is good, although some of the hair is lost on the top of his head. The pose is marvelous. Very nice image.

Your lighting is very good. I like their pose, and here smile and eyes is very lovely. He is a handsome lad isn't he.

This... I consider, very good Portrait. Personally specialized in childrens portraits for over ten years, always used a black or dark blue background and even won competitions in the New England Pro Photographers Assn. One thing You might consider if you do many portraits, is a flash where the reflector can be removed.

I do their portraits in their home, with one strobe-light, without a reflector. It would bounce off all walls and ceilings, giving a very rounded and good lighting. Due to the bounce, it also lit all their hair well, giving good separation from the background...

A challenge for an artist can be to make their work look as good online as the original subject or better. Reviewers review what we see, so as my time is limited, have only time to review, subjects or images I like and then try to give helpful suggestions.

Sharpening is important.
Any changes in a digital, even re-sizing causes a loss of sharpening. This looks sharp enough...

Have always said, if a parent or other relative learned photography, they could get better portraits than a pro.

Thank you so much. This was taken outside with natural light. They were standing in an open barn door. I was taking some shots the other day with my strobe and I had turned the camera 90 deg. for a vertical. That made the flash on the left side. The shot was bright on the left and the right side was dark. I was in close, I'm sure that was part of the problem. What could I do to even out the flash without useing other equiptment?
