What a difficult shot to capture. Hard work to sneak up on a bird like that. I love the DOF and the action in this picture. Great detail. The only thing I see is a little blurring in the head. Otherwise a wonderful picture and thank you for sharing.

Wow! A most unusual, rare shot, to say the least! I have seen some blue herons, but not that many, and certainly none like this! You caught him with almost a skirt effect, with his feathers draped around him ~ I'd say this picture is ready for the Audobon mag. ~ or National Geographic or Wildlife or something! It is most deserving of all the accolades it receives, Willie. I greatly admire you for your talent as a photographer and artist. This is quite lovely. I wish I had more stars to give you. It deserves a 6, easily! Bev

Wow! A most unusual, rare shot, to say the least! I have seen some blue herons, but not that many, and certainly none like this! You caught him with almost a skirt effect, with his feathers draped around him ~ I'd say this picture is ready for the Audobon mag. ~ or National Geographic or Wildlife or something! Really good action shot, this heron doesn't look nearly as graceful as he looks standing still :) Good focus on the eye, and nice detail in the flying feathers, good dof, the only thing that might be improved upon is that the feathers on his back are a little washed out, but excellent work!

Very nice capture if the Blue Heron, not the easiest bird to catch. Color is good and focus is sharp and clear, with very nice detail in the feathers and that eye.
