Great shot. Beautiful red color. I also have alot of cardinals. and yes they are beautiful. This is great focus, you can see the texture of the feathers. Nice close up.

Very nice capture on this beautiful bird. The very bright red trimmed in black is striking.
Very nice camera techniques and initial impact. You have captured wonderful detail in the birds feathers and the focus on the eyes is perfect.
Your composition shows this proud bird at his best. Very nice job.

Wow I've never seen one of these amazing birds before. What a 'hair' style he has (I assume it is a male as they are usually the colourful ones). A great portrait of the birds head, very sharp image with a super background. If I have a gripe about it it is that one tuft of feather sticking up on the left bottom but it is only a tiny niggle.

what a brilliant shot and that color is just wild! Wish we had cardinals here. Excellent focus and techs. Nice feather texture and lovely eye highlights bring him to life. Background makes a nice contrast. Awesome shot.

I can fully understand why this photo ended as a contest winner. I don't think you can find a more red bird than this. The delicate green and silky looking background is just excellent, and I like the way the bird seems to look straight at you.

The focus is pin sharp showing clear and well defined details in the bird, and the shiny eyes are captured so well.I think it looks like his head is on fire. LOL The exposure is perfect and the colors very good.

The square format works well for you, and the bird is well placed within the frame. This is just an excellent shot of a Cardinal.

Thank you so very much! The wind was blowing and he rased his feathers and the wind added a little height.

Hee, Hee, what a strange bird. Looks like he is having a very bad hair day! Seriously though, what a wonderful colour this bird is. Great detail in the face with bright eyes and an open beak. You can even see his tongue! Beautifully framed, lovely soft coloured background which enhances the red tones.

A beautiful close up portrait of this Male Cardinal. Looks as if he is pontificating from his Pulpit while wearing his Mitre? Or is his hairdo that of a Punk Rocker?
Superb Camera techniques all round with super lighting & sharp focus.

LOVE IT! What a great close up, makes me smile. Good focus and detail. Would have liked a touch of blurry detail in the background for interest. Good job.
