This is an excellent shot. Very good use of depth of field to make it look like you're very close to the snake. Excellent focus and lighting. Outstanding point of view. Good artist notes. I didn't know garter snakes would strike. I've only seen them slither away when approached!

Great capture. I really like that he dos not look dangerous. Your DOF is special. Just getting the head with all details as the great natural colors. You show a beauty most people won't acknowledge. I appreciate your comments as much as your perfect picture. I agree but from experience I know that you may got some negative reviews because of it.
