This is a nicely detailed shot of the duck, but it looks a bit odd to me. The duck seems to be floating above the water, not actually in, or on the water. Looks almost as if the image of the duck has been super-imposed onto a background shot of some water. Perhaps my eyes are deceiving me here, but the more I look at it, the more odd it looks. It just doesn't look right. The colour, focus and detail are excellent, but that little bit of blue beneath the duck's body just makes it look like he's flying over the water, not sitting on it.

Good initial impact. Great focus, color and light. Like the sparkle in his eye, the detail in the feathers, and bill and the ripples in the water. Good composition, cropping and framing. Good technique, technical skill and story telling potential. Creativity in title, presentation and artist's notes.

What a great shot of this mallard's head, the rng around his neck and of course that bright yellow bill. The blue water is a nice contrast. What a beautiful creature the male mallards are. Very nice detailed focusing and spot on lighting. Great job.
