I guess it's the delay time of the camera what got you; but other than the cut of wing there is no failure. I think it even cold work the way it is with a tighter crop. I think almost it would look like cut of in purpose to symbolize the motion of incoming and departing. The colors and details are beautiful.

Thank you so very much! It was not on purpose but I understand whay you are saying. I had thought of it as a failure but with your comments maybe it could be called success! Thanks!

I know it was not in purpose. But we are entitled to take gifts ever once in a wile and turn a picture what is different than planned into success.

This is a stunning picture even with the clipped wing. You have GREAT focus and lighting and lovely detail on the hawk. Love the angle of the hawk and those outspread wings. With the bright blue sky behind him it makes the shot even more spetacular. Sorry you had to lose the wing tip because it would have made this even MORE phenomenal!
GOOD LUCK in THe Contest! :o)

I like the angle, and the colors are good the background colors really support the hawk and projects him towards the viewer. To me the detractor is the wing being cut off at the top. The light and the focus is also a little bright and you are loosing some of the details on the hawk. Still an nice photo to use as reference on a hawk in flight.

Thanks! You did not understand! This is a contest for the shot that was almost! The cut off wing was the point!

sorry, at least we agree on what it needed. still makes it a good contender for the contest, and the review is correct for the shot.
