Yes, fireworks are very difficult because you have milliseconds to get the shot off.
Did you use a tripod?
Using a tripod gives you more stability and more flare.
I think you did a great job.

Thank you so very much! No this was hand held. As fast as these things were going I don't think a trypod would work very well!

yes, it does help. I usually sit in a chair with my camera focused upward to the area where the fireworks explode. Taking my shots as the come, but again, I usually have a lot of really bad pictures.

I think maybe a monopod would work better. I don't have one and I don't like my trypod. I took about 1000 shots that night and had only a few that was any good.

yes, I know. The wonderful world of fireworks. the tripod helps reduce the shake and blur.

You really caught the right moment here. The color balance is great. The slighltly off center framing adds to the effect too.
