What a gorgeous butterfly this is. I don't know butterflies, but this one sure is a beauty. I love the light blue with the brown and white stripes. The black just adds wonderful contrast to it. The tips of the wings seem to have a fluted edged with a lighter color on them. A very nice photo. I'm so happy that you didn't miss this baby, either.

I know this may seem like a payback of the 6 stars you gave me, but I honestly think this is an extraordinary shot and I would feel guilty giving anything less.

I love the color and softness of the background, which allows the butterfly to really stand out.

Bless You Dave! Talk about "happy faces"! You just made me smile from ear to ear! I've had the same experience when somone gave me a six and then I ended up giving them one too! It is really a lovely butterfly. The colors are so delicate. The background is nicely blurred. Your use of light is excellent Your focus is a tad soft, but this photo is still more than sharp enough to see very good details in the butterfly. In your post processing I think you should have placed the butterfly a bit different within the frame so that it was more negative space at the top and on the left side. I think your photo would appear better balanced that way. This is of course just my personal opinion and you are entitled to disagree. All together it is still a very nice photo, and I wish you luck in the contest.
