I think the colour saturation of your composition for this contest is genius.
I also really like the darker shadows in the top left, top right and bottom right - adds great depth.
Focus as I am sure you know is not great and my only other suggestion would have been to twist the broken leaves so as not to see the damage too much - these are a bit distracting and do break the flow you would want to achieve.
But it is a wonderful capture. Well done and good luck

I like what you did here! You got the bright green going meanwhile you got the red cherry tomatoe as the hidden star of the show! Well done but it is a little off focus. I do like this picture!

Lovely composition. Just wish you had this more focused or sharper. The all green background really pops out the red berry. Nice shot.

Certainly you have broken that Golden Rule of 3s by plunking the red orb dead center.
That rule of 3's is not a LAW handed down to us by the God of Photography and it can be broken and often should be broken for esthetic value. The times when it does work is if there is balance around the mid center. In order for you to get balance you need to clone in some leaves where you see the yellow back bricks peaking through for that breaks the balance.
If the star of the show is your red orb it needs to be perfectly sharp, absolutely sharp, it isn't.
You can try going into post processing and hitting "sharpen" button, but it will only do it to a point and then it begins to pixellate.
I can see that you have an artists eye to capture this red and green but in order to make it punchier, an OH WOW image, it has to be in focus. Did you use a tripod?....or were the winds blowing?
Also, instead of shooting from such a distance, why not come right up into the red orb, capture it and present it BIG with all that green around it...would have made for an entirely different photo. May I suggest you shoot flowers in soft light because then you will not have so many problems with exposure and harsh shadows. OR you could try back lighting when the sun is behind the flower....just some thoughts to give you to experiment with.
There is much rhythm in nature and flowers and look for repeating patters and capture that to add pizzaz.
All in all, I like what you have here because of the colour saturation. You have an artistic angel sitting on your shoulder.....listen to her first and be true to her, and take what others say with a grain of salt....artistic judgements and photography for that matter is a very subjective matter....and there are no rights or wrongs.
Good luck...

Great shot for that contest! How practical that nature provided just the one berry in the midst of all the bright green leaves. Nicely centered and presented. Thank you for sharing this lone red berry, and all the best to you for the contest.

Lovely vibrant colours here. I think that a crop to the right would benefit the composition by taking the fruit more off centre. The focus could maybe be a little sharper too. However, still a nice image.

what a nice shot?! I like how the light and shadow give depth and contrast. The red grabs the eye and draws you in. Puts me in the Christmas spirit!

The brightness and coloring stands out beautifully in this photo. Lighting seems to be a little off (highlights and shadows and it seems to be a little blurry. Using a tripod might help and using editing software to help with the highlights and shadows.
