Very nice shot. You can see the shadow and you understand right away what is going on in the photo. Love the lines in the water. Good composition and love the puppy.

Kind of a good photo.
Must have been an oldish dog I gather from the posture.
Think you could have possibly cropped a bit more and different.
Good idea though what you wanted to share.
Wish you all the best for the contest.

Thank you very much. No, that is an very active three year old; who just got baffled. I took artistic licence on the story because it feed so well. I do not think that he is looking at the reflection. He can't see it in his position. I think he is looking at a swarm of baby fish in the water invisible to us.
I am not sure how I should cropp differently. Could you please clarify?

Thought dog bit more close to one side being cropped and a bit of the water.
But missed the fish, so that might not be possible.

I will try that cut but I am affraid to much of the reflections would get lost. It is not the dog I am going for, not even his reflection alone. Since the contest is about reflections; my interest lays on different reflections and secondary on the dog as subject of some of these reflections. So in my concept the crackled reflection of sunlight in the water right and the duller reflection of light on the waves left [in the shadowed area] are as important as the distorted reflection of the dog.

Great capture of the look on the dog's face. The title fits the photo perfectly. I love his tail, showing how attentive he is to the reflection. Great story. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.

I am giving you 5 stars because the picture itself is very nice. As far as an entrant into the reflections contest, it seems lacking. The reflection is not very clear. The photograph is very nice in its own right. The focus is sharp. The colors are nicely saturated. You have good natural light. The composition is very good.

Thank you very much for your generous review. I did not do for a clear reflection of the dog; but for the mix of all the different reflections in the water from the crackled sunlight on the waves to the distorted dog reflection and these farther away. I found it more interesting since the theme is not mirror like reflection. Am I wrong with my concept?
reply by Intrepid on 23-Aug-2011
I really like the picture, which is why I gave it a 5 rating. most of the entries for the reflection contest are doing mirror reflections.
reply by the author on 23-Aug-2011
That is why I didn't do mirror. Reflections are to much tought identical to mirror. I wanted to do something different. I probably haven't any chance to win but I don't care about. It's the competition and the challenge I like.
