What a lovely cat, I adore the blue eyes. Good detail and dof. I feel the crop can be a bit tighter on the left and the image feels quite dark. Perhaps up the levels a bit. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you very much, I appreciate your review and your input. I will look at the photo again and take further lightening up in consideration. Levels up does not help. It makes it very unnatural [at least with my program], I have already adjusted exposure and lighting separate the shadows and highlights. More blows the white out to much and cases hot spots and loss of detail. In my point of view the highlights above his forehead and beside his ear an the right are almost too much. I liked that area on the left because it shows that is was shot outdoors. If I cut that of it would like shot up close in a studio not as it was from 40 feet away with telescopic lense. But of course, we are all blind to our own works and see our concept. I could be completely wrong.

A lovely cat and a great subject for a picture.
Good to go in close for the best shots
I feel that he/she was not really in a good mood and looks a bit downcast and bored.
It could also be a little brighter to give the coat a whiter look.
Try to keep the eyes off the center of the frame too

Thank you very much, I appreciate your review and your input.
He was not bored but he is very suspicious of cameras. I did not go close [impossible with his camera aversion]. It was shot from 40 feet away with telescopic lense.
I have already the light, highlights and shadows adjusted as much as possible in my point of view. but will look again. I think more blow the white to much. I think it is almost to much already, the highlights seem to blow on his forehead and on the right beside his ear, doesn't they? It would also cause more loss of detail. [His coat has a yellowish tint by nature but is very reflective.]
I always try not to center my objects. It's to near center here, you are right. That is why I did not cropped more on the right; because truth the are in the center square if using the rule of third the aren't completely in center this way.

Thank you for your detailed reply.
I think I would go for another shot rather than trying to correct this one.
Good luck...Don

Thank you Don. I think so too. But that is complicated. The next cloudy day is may months away. He disappears into the jungle or the house soon he sees a camera. It's not mine. It's neighbors cat. But I like the challenge. My own cats are to easy :-)

The neighbors cat seems to be very thoughtful;)Is it for the cat treads?Pretty colors, white fur with blue eyes. The expression is a big deal on a portrait and in this case the cat is very expressive so good job capturing this moment.

Thank you very much. He is just very suspicious of cameras, I had to stalk him from 40 feet away with the telescopic lens. But he came over for treads when the camera was gone.

He is like most cats, suspicious but always welcomes treads;)

Very nice picture, love the eye color and the expression on the cats face. The dark green makes a good backdrop.

Thank you very much. I have adjusted the lighting already as noted in my comments without blowing the highlights and whites out. I didn't think it was to dark but I am may wrong.

Good initial impact. Good focus, lighting and limited palette color harmony. The pretty blue eyes and troubled forehead are the centers of interest. Good composition and framing. Good technique, technical skill and story telling potential. Creativity in title and artist's notes.
