This seems like the battle of fire blowing Oriental creatures fighting over the ownership of a powerful blue crystal.
Or is the fire coming from the dwarf or directed towards him?
The expanding circles of varied colors somewhat represents stages of the dwarf's shield of defense and protection.

This is a great change from the normal for you. I love the use of colours and the contrast between the violet/blue/green and the orange/red/yell. The concentric circles provide almost a target for the wizard who is in view of the dragon. thanks for sharing Cyn
