This is quite lovely. Makes one want to run through the field of flowers. Vivid, wonderful colors. Great mountain background and perfect trees and sky. Now, I understand why the leopard you drew from RagsAuggie's photo looked so vivid.

Gorgeous Corrina I love the close up of the field of beautiful flowers panning off to the amazing mountain in the distance. Love how you put the trees in the midground to help with the depth and distance factor. The details of the mountain are great. I should try the colored paper it works so well in this piece. What kind of pastels did you get? You're just like me! I would get equally as excited over getting pastels for Christmas. I remember when I 1st got my large set and couldn't wait to dive in and create some art:)! Gorgeous landscape!

Finally can start replying to the reviews! Been a hectic week! Firstly thank you sooooo much for the high rating and thank you for introducing me to these beauties. I was like a kid in the toy shop when I opened them up, just had to play with them

You're so welcome Corrina! Aren't they wonderful? Not only are you in awe over the gorgeous vibrancy of the colors when you open the box but the way they apply to the paper is simply heaven:). Michelle

Love it Corrina. This makes me think of "Heidi". You used your space great and I love the contrast between the flowers and the mountain. Your colors are so pretty as well. Thanks for sharing this. Merry Christmas to you!

Wow, good use of colors in all those flowers. I like how you did the whole drawing.
Very impressive that you did this in a quick moment of just playing around.

Improvements? Not sure what you could do.

Wowsers, thank you so much for such a generous rating, you have made me one happy bunny. I could have probably made it more detailed but I was playing lol, I quite like the rugged feel of it though, fits with the subject

Great study in color, shape and form. The perspective is wonderful. The mountain against the soft sky. The dark green trees and the flowers, Masterful!

You have chosen the subject well. It is 'pastel friendly':) I love the colours and the overall balance in this rendering. The delicate flower filled field contrasts well against the huge mountain. well done!

Very nicely done, really good
details and textures throughout
I like the lower angle you chose for this and the pops of color in the flowers

Your new toys really work perfect on that sanded paper. It looks a bit like somewhere in the Rocky Mountains. A meadow beautiful wildflowers and the mighty iced mountain behind. That is just gorgeous. A Wildflower-mix from Blue Bells, Dandy Lion and Indian Paint Brush to dream of.
[You know I live in the Yucatan. We are a bit backward with new traditional art toys. I know what pastels are; but what are posh pastels?]

Hey Cleo, how was your Christmas? hope it was a good un. Yes has to be said loving the sanded paper, bought a few more sheets today and some tinted pastel paper. Bless my husband he bought me tinted pastel office paper rather than paper for pastel painting. He did good though as he got me my "posh" pastels, it was a set of unison pastels. Michelle introduced me to them and they are so lovely to work with! A bit on the expensive side but Im hoping they will last me till next year. Thank you for the review

Thanks for asking; yes our Christmas was fine even with the music of generators and the smell of gasoline to operate them. [Our power was down 23-24.] The candle light was really romantic and it was nice enough weather down here, warm and no rain. We made the best of it.
Thank you for your reply and the information. Have fun with your new toys!

I love the field with all the pretty wild flowers. They almost look like they are swaying in the wind. Very beautiful painting.
