I love this photo and I love that you are using it for the macro contest. It is definately original and I give it extra points just for that. But it is also technically flawless. The needle looks 10 times bigger than it really is. I love that I can see the thread hairs and the bright blue background really makes this image stand out. Love it.

Great macro still life.
Love the color green and using the blue background is amazing, makes for a happy feeling.
Like the framing of the shot with the needle to the right.
Just a suggestion, if you slowed the shutter speed, and decreased the Fstop (larger #), you would get more DOF. One click each way keeps the ligthing the same, just gives you a deeper DOF.

Great macro still life.

I like the fact that you came up with an idea that wasn't the same old thing, like you said, flowers and insects, which is photographed a lot. I enjoy all those things as much as the next person, but I also like to see new and different, so I like this a lot. I like that you used the thirds rule and the blue really makes the subject show nicely.

I like the fact that you came up with an idea that wasn't the same old thing, like you said, flowers and insects, which is photographed a lot. I enjoy all those things as much as the next person, but I also like to see new and different, so I like this a lot. Personally I like this shot quite a bit! Simple yet very effective. I think you have sown up this contest! Good clear composition, the shot has reasonable sharpness, is well exposed and the colours work well. Gives a whole new look at needle and thread. Nice work, best of luck in your contest!

This is wonderful the way you took it. I like the way you see the needle and then see the thread as it goes down the picture. The detail you see is great. I like the way you have the blue background. An excellent and interesting picture. Good luck in the contest.
