Exellent and unusual! The anger is evident even without a title. The drawing is exquisitely rendered and executed. I really like the Out of the Box thinking here. Best luck for the contest!

You certainly captured the emotion of anger very well in the single eye.
It is an extremely expressive work of art and if I had six stars you would get them.

This is exceptional work.

I love this sketch! I think you showed the emotion very well, and the details and hatching/cross-hatching are well done. Thanks for sharing and best of luck!

Great job. Entered the same contest. I think you will win, wonderful piece and very "eye" catching and the lighting is perfect.

This knocked me off my critiquer's chair for the impact is minimalistic but it certainly exposes the essence, the concept of anger. You have nailed it on the head with this drawing.

In regards to your drawing I only have one comment. The width of your bridge in the nose and shadowing reminds me of a rock formation in Sedona Arizona...it is really wide, however, perhaps this poor fellow does have a boxer's smashed up nose!

Unlike other reviewers on this site. I will not dock marks (to a point) for an artist's prerogative...this is merely my opinion and suggestion. Here I honor your artistry.

The detail in the eye and the furrows on the face are well done and gently blended with soft pencil lines. It's really well done, and I like it a lot....rock formation and all.

    Life is but a Dream,
I think showing emotion we sometimes need to accentuate a feature to get the point across, especially in a minimalists darning, know what I mean?
Thank you for your time and comments on my drawing, they are appreciated.

It is not difficult at all to recognize the look of anger in this eye. I like very much your minimalist approach where no other factors are distracting from the center of interest. It is an excellent entry for the contest, and it was not difficult at all to pick it out as a winner when I voted.

You have created a very expressive eye with your pencil. The bold lining around the eye makes it stand out against the more soft lines in the rest of the face. You have paid attention to details where it should be and I am especially impressed by the shine you have created. The eye is the most difficult part of a face to do well. The character and the mood in person can be captured in the eye like you so well demonstrate here. Of course the placement of the iris and pupil also matters and strangely enough also the surroundings. The way the brow is covering the eye lid enhance the impression of wrath.

This drawing is also well composed with the eye off centered. This drawing has a great initial impact which only get better after having a good look. I wish you luck with the contest.

A well drawn eye and well drawn minimalist work. I see the furrow of the forehead but this doesn't represent anger to me. I see curiousity and I see confusing, but to me... anger is much more dramatic. Good luck in the contest. Cyn

    Cyn,
really, not sure why you would say that, furrowed brow, the eye and the glint there is no confusion in the expression, it is anger. I think you are thinking of rage.
Thank you for your time and comments on my drawing, they are appreciated.
