I like the clear detail of the bird's feathers and how it stands out compared to the background. There is almost a halo around the bird with the paler background color

You ALWAYS take GREAT bird shots and this is NO exception! Love this liitle guy sitting on the metal arch. You shot this at a VERY nice angle and as always have beautiful DOF and lighting! You're right about this being a beautiful bird! I so enjoy these little guys. Sorry you didn't win the contest,but I can definitely see why you got third place!
