really excellent picture. looks like the winner to the comp, as this is just a close as you can get to this brilliant and colourful woodpecker. outstanding pic that deserves a six.

Great close up and nice angle! I think your choice of aperture and ISO is really good. Focus and sharpness are also spot on and so is DOF. Nice work!

Crazy shot you've got here! I have to ask though, how did you manage it? The clarity in the photo is great! Colors are pretty with the red, orange, and brown blend. Great work :)

I always look at eyes in pictures of people and animals. In this picture the eyes are perfect...great color and the always pleasant catch light.
I love the texture of the fur (for lack of the right term)...I love the color of it's head and how it goes from red to orange then to the beak.
Great exposure, color, lighting, shallow DOF/focus...all very nice
