Yes these are our Australain lorkeets. Bright, beautiful and noisy. i feed them in my backyard. The parrot on the right is a ring in as our parrots done't have red on the face like that. These two are a mixture of the asian parrot I have seen in my travels. The breast is usually a mixture of yellow red and orange not like his breast. I take it you have taken this at a zoo or wildlife park. A great photo though and I like your title.

Thank you! Thank you especially for the informations. I thought they were Lorikeets, but couldn't find out which kind. The origin of these two are may more exotic than we both think, because the are not from a zoo or wildlife park, but are hurricane refugees who were rescued by a neighbor in 2007.
Now you have to know that our little peninsula do to its location has a unique environment in which species are native, which originated from the Caribbean, Central and South America as well as from North America. Since we do not have zoos or wildlife parks except for native species, those Lorikeets have roots as domestic pets. There is a possibility of interbreed with parrot species native to our area, either in purpose or sporadic. Especially in the Hurricanes of 2005 many pets got lost, but survived in our jungle. So these guys could be either, pets lost and misplaced by Hurricane Dean 2007. Our the descendants of pets from the 2005 disastrous hurricanes [including the #5 hurricanes Emily and Wilma which hit us directly]. I am afraid we will never know.

A very interesting story. Yes they look more like the Asian variety then ours. some of ours have ended up in New Zealand and have become pests as they are in a totally different environment. They have a pecking order that is exactly what looks like is going on. one is getting put in his place. The one on the left is bossy boots. i can stand at my kitchen window and watch and listen to all the noise of the fights. As it happened one day i couldn't hear a person on the phone. You get the hurricanes like we get cyclones in North Qld. Been through a couple. Sounded like you survived.

That guy looks indeed bossy, but the other looks as if he/she could fight back.
Yes we survived, but had to rebuild in 2005. We usually evacuate to the next city. We are to close to the ocean to stay.
