Great technique! It made a love design when you moved the camera. Timing of the exposure must have taken lots of trial and error. Very good job. It has a pleasing movement and the colors are soft and inviting into the spirals.

Thank you very much. Yes it was indeed a lot of trial and error.

it sure has come out well and i'd never have guessed how the effect was achieved. it was an inventive experiment and with all experiments, you get a result. my kid is sitting on my lap and saying (pointing) "space rock" and seeing the image again, it does seem like a solar scene. your result thus, is like totally cosmic!

Well your kid is a genius. He gave me a perfect idea for another picture. Thank you both!

    Thank you!!!
I never liked fractal programs because the work to much by themselves. They do not do what I want. I thought there must be a better way. Actually I didn't took that for an stand alone photo, but to use in mixed media and fairytales, Nevertheless I thought it is abstract enough for an abstract contest. Cleo

Afternoon again. Wicked. So awsome that this worked. I have tried to take pics of fire dancers. What a disaster that was. I can see a mystical brigge starting at the top of the left loops guiding my eye into the right center of the frame. It very hypnotic. Just super. I love it. Great afternoon. To you, c

Wow! Such a high rating! I am truly honored and happy you like it. Usually I do that stuff to use it in my mixed medias or fairy tales, not as a stand alone photo. But I thought it works for the abstract contest. It's not as easy as it looks. I needed about two years of experiment before I had the camera settings and the speed and directions in which to move the camera right.

Your explanation is facinating. I love the design. There is no explanation given in contests. This piece would have to stand on it's own. And your efforts would not be shown. Good luck in the contest!

Thank you very much. Excuse me but my understanding of the English left me alone; what do you mean with " This piece would have to stand on it's own. And your efforts would not be shown?"
reply by BrooklynMyra on 10-Nov-2012
What I mean is that in a contest, you cannot explain the way you did your picture which I found to be the most interesting thing. When I say the picture stands alone, I mean that whoever sees it will not know of all the efforts you put into it. It will just be a blue textured picture on a black background.

Why can I not? I did. It's in my comments. That is for what the comments are.
That was not made for a stand allone piece. Usually I do those things to use them in mixed medias and for my fairy tales. I used it because I tought it is abstract enough for the contest.

Very amazing piece - the details are looking like glass pearls playing a game in the universe - you are very right they easily could be fairy creation - well done good contrast with the black background - wonderful pattern - good technique - all the best

Thank you very much. Its harder to do than those light picture. Except you go for a random [what ever comes out of it] design, lights are easier to move in front of the camera, than a camera over light fixtures somewhere on the streets, except you do not a design but random. I needed about two years until I learned what settings to use when and to move the cam era to the right time at the right speed.
    P.S. I love pun's!

Beautifully done Cleo. I really want to start going back to more artistic renderings and compositions, which is how I started out but sort of became inundated with journalistic work. No more 6's for you for a while by FanArt decree. Still it is imaginative and lovely. Bren

Thank you very much! Don't worry the sixes. Reviews count more.
Why not do both? Your journalistic work seems to me as important as your artistic renderings. ~Cleo

Interesting. O never did anything like this but now I might give it a try. I have difficulty with things dominated by software falls out of my definition of photography. So I like this abstract particularly because you stuck with the camera. Don

Give it a try! It is fun; but it is not as easy as it looks, except doing random pictures [moving the camera, no matter what design comes out].
If you go for some sort of design, it is much easier to move a light in front of the camera, than the camera over the lights. I needed about to years to find the right settings for the camera, and especially the speed and motion to move the camera.
[Do to the difficult condition of our power, I cannot set lights. I find them on the streets. Especially Christmas is a ideal time]

Life imitates art! Yes I thought this was mixed media, even though as a photo it is still art. Extremely well done and another art form I might pursue. Thanks for the inspiration and good luck in the contest. Cyn

Thank you for your review and the wishes. Try it! It is not as easy as it looks. I needed about two years before I had the right camera settings and my movements down for an previous thought out design. Of course random designs are easier. [Usually I do not have those pictures as stand alone.] Cleo
