I've always enjoyed the beautiful red of the cardinals. We have a LOT of them on the east coast too. Love the sharpness and definition of the feathers in this shot. Fantastic shot of the eye too, Love the rim around it. THe seed in the Cardinal's mouth is an extra bonus.
Great Cloes-up Shot!
Good Luck in the Contest!

Not really a macro but still a nice close up.
Good closeup of this cardinal with perhaps his dinner. Nice overall sharpness, nice complementary colored solid background.

A great shot of one of my favorited birds. You are right they are all over Ky. but i have never had the good fortune or the lens to get a shot like this. It is very well lit and so detailed.

This looks technically excellent to me and also has great artistic appeal. I cannot think of anything that needs to be done to improve it.
Beautiful work.

Great initial impact and excellent presentation. A good entry for the contest.
Your shot is sharp and well exposed giving excellent details to be seen. I could count the number of feathers on this bird! The sunflower seed adds interest.
I like how the bird is not fully in the frame. Nice work, good luck in the contest.

Great close up with even a crack in the bill. The subject is great but I think it's cropped a little too close. Maybe you could frame the head.

Thanks! This is a macro contest. The tight crop is to show the detail of the eye and beak. If I include it all it would no longer be a macro.

Great portrait of this colorful guy with his snack! Love the detail and textures. He does look like he's molting - why it it the scruffy ones that always pose? _ LOL! No, seriously, he's gorgeous, and your detail and framing is perfect. Great work!
