Very cool digital- I cant believe you can do this just on the computer- WOW. You have really included a lot of detail in the face and cloth around the head. I also like how you have shaded areas of the face to make it look more realistic. Very good!

great work. i love the detail of the hairs. His eyebrows and mustache are amazing. The cloth on his head is done very well. I like the brown eyes it fits with the color scheme as well as more true to his heritage. The only suggestion I would make would be a little more shadow to his right side of his face. It will add a little more 3 D to it, my eye keeps wanting to go there to find out what is wrong with his face. It is symmetrical but the lighting makes it pop out. But like I said great work of art. You did wonderful!

I agree! We want to hear that what we have to is awesome and amazing but if that is all that we are told then we will never improve. I have not painted or drawn in years but i loved it when people would give me critiques. It always made me better at what I did. You are very talented. i hope you continue your artwork.

I wanted to comment on this. you have natural ability. and it shows. skin tones are hard to do. good job. Subject is tough though. Jesus was a jew from the family on marys side he may of had light colored eyes. His natural setting would not of had his beard groomed in this fashion, even though the movie. Love the details of the brows.

good point and I did try to make him less groomed, while I was painting this my husband brought that to my attention so you should have seen it before, looked like he just walked out of GQ magazine LOL so I did make him less groomed just couldn't get the look I was going for. I normally don't paint people, In my portfolio you'll find more animals, but have been attempting different works.
thank you for your review and the time you took to stop by It is deeply appreciated

It is beautiful and I can see the gentleness in his eyes. The light blue sky works well with this image.

Oh, are you leaving FAR? That is sad to hear. Well I had to comment on this, because I feel it is a lovely portrait - everything looks so smooth? (I have Photoshop, but I can't figure out how people are getting this smooth effect!) The colors are really nice and I especially love the delicate touches of the fringe around the face and the individual hairs in the eyebrows and mustache, etc. I did have to look close to find the eyelashes - He almost seems eyelashless - so I would probably boost the color on this area a bit, but otherwise I think this is just a lovely rendition of Our Lord! :)

thank you kimI don't use photoshop, I don't know the first thing about it to be honest, I use twisted brush and I use the brushes and blending to get the effects on the skin. there is a brush called hair that I use to the beard but it's the way I had to swirl it to get the effect that I wanted. the eyelashes are extremely weak even on the originally painting, when I tried to bring them out more it looked more like he used Maybelline LOL

It was right to change the eyes, be sure he did not have blue eyes, and most likely did not look this handsome. But as far as your picture goes it is great. The human form is certainty in proportion. He does look at bit stressed under the eyes and around the nose however. Some attention to that are you will have an exceptional piece,John

thank you John for your input, it is always helpful when I get reviews like this. I used the actor who played Jesus in the movie as my reference but I had a difficult time with the wrinkles on the face. thank you for your kind review and input it really does help

Really good job here. I love the little details which add interest and texture to the picture like the edge of the frayed shawl and the lines on the skin. The hair on the face is excellent as are the shadow tones under the eyes and on the neck.
