I think the shot has some very nice elements in it that really break up the space nicely. I like the angle as well, unexpected, not really. I do think that the graininess of the image detracts from the impact of the colors and the various shapes. Nice idea, to me needs to be more cleanly in focus.

Thank you! To me it is unusual and it looks neat whit the hdr and poster edge.

Looks really good. I like the overall effect that you applied to the picture. It looks more like a painting than a photo. There is a TV show that might be interested in buying some of the tools.HaHa Good shot.

It is amazing how good old farm tools look in a photo. I really like the limited pallet in this image, and how well you captured the textures and rust. This is just my subjective opinion, but I think the HDR look is a tad over done in this case.

Your photo is still pin sharp and with so many details to look at and study. All clear and well defined. I also like the way the light is coming in from the right.

The close up approach works well with the wheel as the center of interest, and the very tight framing looks very nice and holds the composition together. This was a good find, and a well taken photo, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Thank you so very much! I thought the effects added a lot. I have been experimenting and have learned a bit about layers. I like to take portraits in a scene like this and really over do the hdr, more so than this. Then use the eraser tool over the subject. It really looks neat. I am going back to this place later and use my daughter and have her sit in the seat and do this. You would be surprised how it looks. Like I said it has been experiments on shots I have already so none are ready to show yet.

I also like the effect, but just a bit less. You know these things very often comes down to personal tastes. Don't misunderstand, I think it is a great shot.

I do like the realistic look in this shot. Pov/dof are good and the focus is well handled for the lighting inside a barn. I also think the HDR editing brought it to life. Nice composition. Good luck in the contest. I just don't see the connection with the title.

Got a question. Are you seeing photos on here that really should be in the category of digital art?
reply by the author on 28-Feb-2013
Not really! I have seen some photographs that have so much mixed media that they look like digital art. There is a difference.

This looks great, I like the software modifications gives it a more aged look. Great composition showing the varying shapes and angles off well. Good work Willie.

The browns, the texture helps make this image look old. Great use of HDR. Love the composition! Great camera technique. Wish I still had a six.

I really like the colors and suble colors in the rust you have captured. I think the darkness adds to the feel of age, but some may disagee with that. I do think it is a wee bit too detailed (topaz?) that sort of makes it seem grainy..I torn between thinking that adds to the "old" feel, and thinking it may be too much. Donkeyoatey

Thank you so very much! Yes this is Topaz adjust five. It will always increase the grain but I liked it in this one. I will sometimes use the poster edge filter after the detail adjust to enhance the grain.

I never thought of that..an interesting and creative idea! Donkeyoatey

I have also been using it with layers. Then use the eraser tool on an indivual subject. This way all the background have the HDR look but the subject be natural. I have been having fair results and a lot of fun too!

Excellent shot and a perfect entry for the contest. Such depth and detail with so little color. A remarkable find and your expertise has presented an extraordinary photo. Impressive work!
