My heavens!!! What a wonderful photo. At first sight I didn't know which end was up. The black and white is an excellent choice in a picture like this. So sharp and perfect lighting. Just perfect. He's soooo cute.

Good idea going with the black and white. It allows for her expression to shine thru the photo. great capture of just having fun. for a contest for black and white only it does not have much contrast in it due to her taking the entire frame. not sure how they judge the photo's yet. the impact is strong with her staring directly into the camera. if you do enter it good luck. I do enjoy this photo a lot. my favorite pictures of peoples pets is of their expressions not their actions and she has a great expression.

Good idea going with the black and white. I think this is excellent for your photo club. Since you mentioned loving to see her front legs come off the ground when she barks, I'd try to capture that, too. I love her cute face filling the frame. sweet wrinkles and big eyes. strong initial impact and center of interest. great job.

I don't really go for pet photos but this one really caught my attention. First I will tell you what I do like about this image. The b&w conversion is flawless. Superb exposure with no hot spots that tend to show up on black and whites. Excellent contrast and detail with wonderful level of depth. Love the tight close up, gives the composition so much strength. Love the fact the dog is doing what dogs do, i.e. the ball. What do I not like about the shot, nothing. A truly wonderful pet portrait Willie, thanks for sharing.
