Like most dogs she just once to play.Nice shot catching Gidgett chewing on a ball.Clarity and focus is very sharp.Changing to black and white is a very good idea.Thanks for sharing.

Gidget is as cute as ever! I think it would make a great entry for the BW contest. Lots of great detail in the close up view of her face! The eyes really stand out well, and her fur shows great focus and clarity! Give her a hug for me! Nice work!

As a Mono this works quite well. You have a good range of tones throughout. Detail is also very well captured. But on a personal level you are caught between two stools. Either stand back a little and show more her head or come in closer and concentrate on the eyes and nose. I would have gone for the later. Mitch

I think this is an excellent entry for the contest Willie. Your dog has such a funny face the way she is holding on to that ball, but I can also see kindness in the big bright eyes. I have had a really close look at this portrait of your dog to see if anything needs to be improved, and I have noticed just one little and probably insignificant thing. On the eye to the right it is a small stripe of something left to the pupil.It could be that this is how her eye is, but it could also be some dust. I would have cloned it out carefully, because if the photo is shown bigger than we see it, it is probably going to be even more visible.
Apart from this, your photo is perfect. It is sharp with well defined details in the fur, and the exposure is spot on.
I also think the tight framing works really well to capture the dog's personality, and I like the diagonal position of the head. I wish you well in this contest, and if it is doing fine, I am sure you will let us know. I would have given this 6 stars, but was not allowed to.

Willie, great shot of Gidget. Tremendous full frame shot with tremendous detail right down to the shine on her nails. The detail in her markings and color are spot on with each hair perfectly in place.
The ball is a great fit for a pug's mouth. Our son has one and they are unbelievable. I could tell you stories, but you could probably do the same.
