I am not sure what size this is, but it strikes me as being on the small side. I think the lights and darks are well done, not being familiar with the terrain. The colors are vivid. I'm not sure if there any indication of a lighthouse in the picture, even though you mention it in your artist notes. Maybe it is out of the line of sight?

Many thanks for your review. No, the lighthouse isn't in this view. I just included that in the notes for interest.

What a beautiful seascape. You have composed your work perfectly to reflect both tranquility and beauty of the spot. The boat says this also a place for activity and not just looking. Well done!

Nice image Suzzanne, I love the soft colors, the muted look. It is very peaceful. The boat looks like it can't wait to get out on the water.

Good rule of thirds with the composition. Love the rolling green hills above the chalk cliffs. Nice movement in the ocean. I like the small red boat pointed your eye toward the horizon. Well done and thanks for sharing.

Such a pleasant, inviting scene. I do like it! The blues in the water and sky are so calming and the cliffs draw the eye to them and then gently lead the eye out to the deep blue sea. I've never tried to water mixable oils, though I've been curious about them. Do they dry fast like acrylic?

Thank you so much for your very nice review. Yes, the water mixable oils dry quickly and you don't get the lingering smell of turps etc., that's why I use them a lot. If you have lot of room (which I don't) regular oil paints are really better, I think, but of course you need room to leave the paintings while they dry! Suzanne

Thank you for the reply. I appreciate the information. I use odorless thinner for my oil, but I use liquin and that smells strongly.

Enjoyed your notes.
Great detail in the cliffs, the sea.
What makes this stand out is the red fishing boat, just the pop it needs.
Great color clarity and shading.
Well done.

Great seascape traditional art presenting a red boat with white borders diagonally balancing the distant cliffs.
The sea with its rolling waves somewhat soften the solid stones though covered with fresh green grasses.
The clouds are realistically rendered reflecting its blueness to the ocean below.
Thanks for sharing...
