I like the simplistic approach to this one using a pleasing colour palette with minimal detail to create the overall feeling of the scene but with good skills used to give depth & initial impact-nice work my friend!

Very nice work. The rightmost seagull seems to need a little more work, but the composition is great! The leftmost, due to the whiteness in the sky directly behind seems to creat the impression it is flying supersonic! lol!

A super painting - full of life and movement and I just love the shades and tones of blue that you've used here. I hope it does very well in the contest. I was reminded of a time - many, many years ago when my kids were small and we lived by the sea. I 'rescued' a baby seagull that somehow ended up in our backyard and I fed it up - I had no idea they grew so quickly and ate so much! I was going to the fishmongers for it and then giving my husband fish-fingers with the kids for his meal! I never did tell him!

I really like textures in a piece, and yours has that! the edges of the waves, and the gulls seem to have a glow to them. I like the idea iof a "birds eye view" over the water and piers. Donkeyoatey

Nice and realistic art of the coast with beach and water and seagulls. I know they are almost impossible to photograph. Even when they slow down and soar. Very good colors here and nice blending of shadows and light:)

You have done a good job with this oil. It feels cool, and free and gives flight to the birds! ;-)
The mood created by your colour is breezy and cool, yet there is warmth in the sandy shore and the way you have transitioned from cool to warm is masterfully accomplished through wave placement and colour handling. You have popped in white paint then transition directly into dark warm sands. The layering effect of blue from light to darker strands to really dark blues is handled precisely.
The compositional style with the focus on the ocean and shore given more strength was the way to go. The sky plays an important secondary role.
You do know about three. That magical number that is hardwired into our brains. We live with number three, our lives are surrounded by threes and our brains love the seeing of threes (or uneven numbers). Life is lived in S, M, and L, or compact car, medium and SUV, or appetizer, main meal , dessert and so on and so forth.
Three seagulls (incidentally I really like them too) in different dimensional sizes to show us their flight/play is effective.
Sky does not compete for attention but adds strength to your art.
Application of paint through your strokes and build up is consistent presenting a unified package for the viewer.
Great lead lines that provide a visual pathway for our eyes to dance across. Love the rays of light that point towards the bird, again skillfully handled, you knew exactly what you were doing and what you wanted to accomplish. This is an image painted by a confident and well honed artist.
Truly an enjoyable and masterfully handled art piece. I enjoyed it a lot.
