This is so appealing. I can see why it won the contest. The direction of the deer's fur and the texture of the grass complement each other nicely, along with the texture of the twigs underfoot. It looks as if the deer has a precarious sense of balance, which may suggest much of the balance of nature as well. Not sure what to improve on, unless you crop about 5% on the right side if you make a greeting card or something out of it.

Thank you so much! Just two weeks ago I saw another one with its mom but did not have my camera with me. Oh well they did not hold still anyhow.

I would have liked to have seen this little one as you shot it. They are so cute and precious. Everything about this shot is good but the editing I feel took the real life out of this little one and turned it into art.

You were lucky to get such a nice shot and so closely. II do think this one is a bit "over cooked" in topaz. I think if you toned it done a wee bit it would make for a more realistic shot. I do like the pose, the colors, and the sweet little soft baby hair. Donkeyoatey
