The photo is lovely Helvi. It looks like a very pretty place to take a walk. The sunlit path looks warm and very inviting.
The photo is great as it is but if you would like to improve on something like this, I think getting a nice sunray effect in the photo would make it look spectacular.
To do that you need to set the aperture at f22 and get in just the right position so the sun hits the lens directly. Don't look through the viewfinder at the sun or you will hurt your eyes. Use the viewing screen instead. Even that can be very glaring so do it fast as possible.
Take a look at http://www.fanartreview.com/displaystory.jsp?id=379374
I have settings there you might like to try.

Tis pretty and inviting..Your instincts were dead on to capture the path at the bend like this..Adds not only depth, but a little mystery..I feel as if I were being invited to "step into the light"..this Would make an amazing card my friend! Donkeyoatey

Thank you My Friend, for the lovely and encouraging review! I am only a self- taught amatuer, wouldn't even know how to find someone to sell this to as a card. I am extremely honored you feel this could be a card and that you enjoyed it SO MUCH! :o) Helvi

Very beautiful. Not shooting straight down the path creates a much more dynamic composition. Your exposure, color, depth of field and framing are all excellent. It is often the case when you include the sun against a dark limb as you do here and stop the lens down you will get a diffraction star effect.

This looks a very inviting path to walk down towards the light. I like the angle you used for this. Lighting and focus very good. Very good composition. Good luck in the contest. Suzanne

Helvi,
A beautiful picture of the path leading to a sunlit mystery at the end of the path where it curves. The lighting makes this photo for me. Artistic composition beautiful soft lighting, superb camera techniques with razor sharp focus.
