I always have a look at your portfolio now and again, because I know you mostly post photos for contests. Also because I know I will like what I see, like here. This is a different approach to this contest and a nice change from all the landscape photos I have reviewed lately. The corn is shining like gold, and what could be more perfect than a lovely blue sky as a background. I also like a lot the very fine textures in the dried husks.
Your focus is spot on and sharp showing clear and well defined details all over, and the exposure is just perfect. I like so very much the way the light is falling on the corn itself, and by that makes it stand out so well.
It is not often that the center of interest looks good placed in the middle, but here it works really well Still I would also have tried to crop a tad more on the left and see how this works. This is as always a really well taken shot with an excellent DOFF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Thank you so very much! If I had not shot this I probably would have used a landscape. I have been trying to find things that is different and to me this is a bit unusual.
I just love your reviews! They are encouraging and if something is wrong you are honest in your opinions. Sometimes I don't totally agree with you but I truly do appreciate your input! I thank you for that!

THAT certainly is a sign of fall! Nice vivid fall blue sky, and lovely detail on the dried shocks. I do think it would show better if the focal point (corn) were either closer up, or offset so it was not so centered. Donkeyoatey

We do grow sweetcorn in the UK but it needs a long growing season to ripen properly. In the States I imagine you have more sunshine so it ripens quicker. Very good shot with the plant scanning the whole frame. Like the blue sky behind the head and leaves. Certainly showing autumn tones so apt for the contest. Your framing, focus and lighting are all very good. Good Luck at voting time.
