Polly's portrait is very endearing, you have captured her well with great artistic skill.
As she has since passed I think the way you have painted her head surrounded by blue sky, I'm assuming symbolic of the heavens, is rather poignant.
A very sweet and lovely rendering of a sweet and lovely doggie.

This is a very nicely done acrylic showing very good detail in the markings of Polly. Great job capturing the eyes and teeth in this nicely textured piece. Background color is wonderful to highlight Polly.

Polly is adorable, what a shame they have to leave us and so soon.
I love dogs and animals in general.
You have done Pollys eyes so well, nose looks great along with mouth and teeth. Just brilliant overall. EXCELLENT work, good luck in the contest :-)

a really lovely painting of the dog. Great painting techniques to get the fur effect well, good blending and great colors used. the back ground colour is terrific. My favorite part is the nose! Well done and good luck in the contest!

I like the way you rendered Polly's wide glistening eyes.
Every detail is meticulously painted--
The dividing white strip in the forehead;
The moist nose;
The white set of teeth;
The cyanotic tongue;
The fluffy fur under his mouth;
The black hair merging with the whites on his neck.
The two toned backdrop reminds me of a dog painting several months ago...I voted for that one. Did it win?

Very nice job of painting this. I like the dog, she has pretty colors and markings, great eyes and nose. Her mouth looks like she's smiling. Good background colors too. It's a shame she's gone, good image!

It is always sad when we lose a pet as they are certainly family. You have done an excellent job of capturing the personality of this dog. I had to look to see if it was art or a photo. the colors are vibrant. Great all around work.

Very nice painting. Polly reminds me of my dog Bubbles. She is an Australian Shephard/Blue Healer mix. Here in the US we call them Texas Healers. I like your use of color and highlighting in the fur. The mussle looks very, very lifelike. Contrast is fantastic. Thank you for sharing a picture of your precious Polly.
