I was hoping the tree was real! SIGH..we have crazy trees like this here, they call them snaggle trees.
Very unique artificial tree with branches reaching here, there and everywhere. Your POV getting the sun behind the tree is superb. Love the glow it created.

Thank you so very much! The mayor has caught hell for these trees as they cost around 1 million! They don't have to rake leaves though! The river park is huge, there is four trees like this, all in the playground area.

A striking photograph which is simple so far as composition is concerned, but on this occasion less is definitely more. The tree is an old tree by the looks of it and judging by the side of the trunk. It could actually be dead since the branches all look very shot and stunted. But it makes for a wonderful sight against the impressive sky. The sky is hiding behind the tree and its rays are influencing the colours in the sky, turning clouds golden in tone. Like your framing with the tree centred. Very apt for the contest. Good Luck at voting time.
