Annie,
A fantastic shot of this pair of cats I'd say it's a mother cat & one of her kittens on the left. It's much smaller & has that look of wonder & curiosity in it's eye that kittens have Keeping close to it's Mum who is trying to stifle a yawn! Artistic composition & lighting so they stand out in three D from the soft blurred background. Superb camera techniques & razor sharp focus so every whisker stands out clearly. In short a brilliant picture

Nice portrait of the two cats. Looks like you put a great effort into this shot. I made my living doing portraits and wedding and sometime someone would bring in a cat or two. I found you get about 3 chances to get their attention then it's all over, they don't even want to know your there.
So great shot. Good luck in the contest. Thanks Charlie

Focus and composition is great. Good capture of the beautiful eyes on the left. I find the open mouth a little distracting, seeing the inner mouth/tongue, etc. Otherwise, great job

Thank you so very much for the lovely review. It is OK that you don't like the open mouth, but does it take away from the quality of the shot ?

I guess my thought was that if the point was "cute," the open mouth takes away from that cuteness, which is the point of the photo. You know what I mean? No big deal.

It depends on what you think is cute. LOL

    You are exactly right.

It wasn't til I clicked on the picture and saw the larger image that I could see the wonderful image that you created. I am blown away by how you were able to soften the fur of these cats, yet you can still see it so clear. The eyes are amazing and the background that you selected is perfect. Great job.

Being a cat lover I like this, the image stands out as if it is in 3D. The sharpness and detail is perfect, with the smaller cat fully focused on you with the big green round eyes. The background you have chosen works very well enhancing the both cats.

Wow - great sharp focus allowed for such an intense appreciation to the pattern variation in the fur. I think I can feel through my eyes their soft fur.

Nice detail in the face and those whiskers. Great use of lighting. Superb focus and exposure. Nice Background to allow these two center stage.

Nice! Kathy

Nice edit job on this meow shot, showing sharp detail, nice lighting, and smooth background. Tally looks like (s)he's yawning or anxious to get this photo shoot done with. Shorty looks mesmerized by the camera, taking a cue to not blink at the click sound. Cats will be cats, but at least they're not napping for this activity!
