WOW! I wish I had started viewing your work while I still had some 6 stars still available. This is really stunning. Perfect stop action on the wings. The fish in his beak...wow! The log in the foreground is a nice feature. I also love the reflection of what looks like fall foliage on the water. I just love this shot. Thanks for sharing it.

Willie,
A beautiful picture of the Great Blue Heron wading out of the water with it's next meal firmly grasped in it's long beak wings outspread to aid balance the blue sky above reflected on the circular ripples it has created as it moved in the water. the sunlight highlighting the wooden tree stump/post, the leading edges of the Heron's wings, neck, throat & prey. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

A beautiful picture of the Great Blue Heron wading out of the water with it's next meal firmly grasped in it's long beak wings outspread to aid balance the blue sky above reflected on the circular ripples it has created as it moved in the water. the sunlight highlighting the wooden tree stump/post, the leading edges of the Heron's wings, neck, throat & prey. Nice timing. The fish is a tad bright but that helps it to stand out and be identifiable, so I'm not complaining :) The tree reflections on the water make for an attractive background.

I don't know if your very talented or very lucky. I don't mean that bad. I just know how hard it is to catch a bird without it blurring. This is a great picture. It is a great composition and the title fits the photo. Thank you for sharing with us.
