LOL - This is so funny. Sometimes a dog can do such an excellent job that you wonder if the dishes actually need to be washed at all. It is not difficult at all to see that Gidget likes whatever has been in that bowl. What I like best about this shot, is that it is very different from the pet shots we usually see.
Your photo is of course also nice and sharp showing clear and well defined details all over, and especially the eyes are captured really well. The exposure is perfect.
I think the tight framing works really well, and it was also OK to show a bit of the dishwasher in this case. I think this is a really well taken photo, and I wish you luck with the contest.
