I love your story, especial the part were they collecting flowers in the meadows of the North Pole. Who can say what special accommodation Santa's property at the North Pole has. :o)

Having a wife that is Swedish, gnomes are part of her heritage. We also used to have a ceramic shop and garden gnomes wee very popular. The reclining one is very similar to ours. The many layers work for building this cute scene. The lighting maybe a little heavy across the mantle but not bad. Probably the last rays of the setting sun.

Swedish is close. The gnome is an original German garden gnome, the smaller one is US American. The heavy light is a spotlight set by the restaurant the fireplace belongs to. I tried to turn it down, but what ever I do, it does not look right.
