Pointilism is a fascinating technique. Took a lot of patience to cover such a large subject. Great proportional drawing of the quarter horse with it appropriately raised hind quarters. Great job.

    Gramelli,
Salutations, sorry for the delay in getting back to you. yes stipple is a very interesting and time consuming technique master and I am getting better with every image I draw. thank you for having taken the time to look at this drawing of the Quarter Horse and then writing me your thoughts on it in your review. Appreciate the support and hope you will continue looking at my work in the future.
    Take care and cheers!

I think that this is a very nice drawing of a horse. I like the "light" delicate feel to it. I know you have a print of this out, so I hate to say that it needs a change, and of course, we can always improve on something in our pieces, however the right front leg, just below the horse's shoulder doesn't match the left front leg. If it is that thick and muscled on the right leg, then it should also be shown in the left front leg. Thanks for showing us your work. Wonderful drawing technique.

It is true, sometimes the photos we get, I also do many portraits, seem a bit off, although it IS the animal. Maybe he was puffy in that right fore-leg. You are right, we have to stay true to the subject. And as you also know, no two horses are alike, they can be very different from bone-structure to muscle. Betsy :)

Very nice, Lucien, Great rendering which show your skill at knowing the anatomy of the horse. I like the pose and regal look you gave the animal. Good one.

Excellent work! The Quarterhorse just exudes power, all compact muscle and speed :-)

The hindquarters are perfect, with the short back and well-muscled rump emphasizing strength and speed.

I would have liked to have seen a few more highlights for the glossy coat, but it is wonderfully rendered as is.

The head is a bit fine for a Quarterhorse, and the left upper leg seems a bit slim, but that could be the angle of view or just the way he's standing.

You have exceptional talent in sketching realistic animals :-)
