Thanks for your generous review. We've had this now for over a month and while many of the buds have turned black this one stayed white.

Nice shot Chuck! These are such attractive flowers: there shape really offers a bold / nice compositional element to a photo. The darkened background (could be darker) really allows this gem to take center stage. Nice work. Kathy

The simplicity of this shot is lovely.

I think it could actually be in a bit sharper focus (maybe fiddling with aperture will simply solve this)

I do like how "nothing" is distracting in the background -- it makes the lily
the star of the show.

Yes. It is a star. I was lucky to get the right dof to totally fade out the background.

So simple and natural. Love the authentic colors. Excellent contrast of the white petals, the spiky bud and its stem. I only wish that there's some margin at the top. Overall, focus, lighting, angle, and technical skills, high five. Well captured an it feeds my soul.
