Angel on a Mission

A whimsical thought

The light hand of the pencil has created a stunning image of the down and out human in need of help form his angel. The feelings portrayed in his face is outstanding. The indirect light effect highlights his hair and face. The pose is of despair and loneliness. Fantastic work.

Oh FBI, he is the angel. He is sad because he has to leave his charge for another assignment, which happens to be written on a piece of paper in the bottle. Thank you for your wonderful review.

This is so emotional. I'm glad you mentioned the note in the bottle as I did not pick up on that. Yes, I think we all have guardian angels, some we know as friends, others are in the other realm. Beautiful, thoughtful art work that could be translated many way. I saw it as an angel who was in deep study of what his next move might be to help his charge. He could be in mental prayer with His creator, don't know. But this work gives the viewer a lot of choices.
Excellent.

I like that he is in deep prayer with God. We all should be. I love doing work that is spiritual. Thank you for your wonderful review.

I think this is beautiful! I especially appreciate how the high key values lead the eye around the piece, from his right shoulder down and then across to his hand and then up to the bottle and his face. Lovely shading throughout.

Another signature portrait by the great graphite master. The viewer is moved by the expression. The depth and spiritual high lights are exquisite

I love this. You are more than talented I just can't find the words. It pulls me in. Why is he so unhappy. Because he thinks he can't make a difference?

As far as the execution, I cannot find one flaw. A million years ago when I took art we joked about drawing hands and how difficult it is. Your's are truly perfection.

This is truly, and most definitely, a very uplifting and heart warming review. Wow, it means so much that you took the time to not only critique this picture, but that you told me a little about yourself too. Thank you.

Thanks once again for sharing your amazing talent here. Fine detail in face, hair bottle and hands. The message is in an empty beer bottle ; guessing his charge was alcoholic? Wish I could see this work in person rather than just uploaded photo.

Thank you so much. No, the way I pictured it was like City of Angels. How they all met at the beach. Then I thought that maybe messages would come in bottles. That is why he is holding a bottle. Silly I guess, but it was fun

As usually an excellent work in your favourite media. The only think that is slightly lacking in my opinion is depth, but knowing the ''quality'' of FAR resolution I tend to believe it's not the work that;s missing it. I personally have my work on fineartamerica and the difference in visual impact is mind blowing. Anyway, sixes are well deserved yet again.
