Wow, I love creativity, and this is just that. It is hugely dramatic. The grayscale background forces the eye to the color. The unexpected blood gives a sense of drama. The eye sees but the mind has to play catch up.
Well done is the least I could say!

This is wonderful in so many ways. You avoided the all or nothing approach to the selective color.. Part of the Rose, and part of the leaves. Genius!
The lines in the tabletop pull my eyes right into the deepest parts of the image.
The glass shows all of the light camera left and the balance of the whole piece is wonderful!
Great Work!

I absolutly love this piece!
I love the way that you started off with the gray and then gradually put the green and the red in.This piece tells so many stories, all being in the mind of the beholder. I can just imagine that someone has had their heat broken by looking at this piece. The decanter of alcohol and the glass with the rose in it I think represents a person who is trying to drown their sorrow with alcohol.
I can't make out the back of the piece though? I wish I knew what the background represents.
Having said that,I do love the stark redness of the drops of blood against the dark gray background and table. The colors against the gray just make the right side of the picture pop.
It deserves a 10 in my opinion, so consider a cyber 10 from me, and thank you so much for sharing this amazing piece!

Thank you so very much for the lovely review and of course also for the very generous rating. The background doesn't really represents anything special. I just wanted to add some sort of texture to break up the solid black.

This very nicely done. Not sure what it means, but that is probably different for each person. I like the b&w effect whit the color added. And I really like the glass and the great contrast of it. The feathers add a nice touch. All the tech stuff is right on. Super job.

Awesome use of mixed media. Caught my attention immediately. Beautiful composition and set up. Love the look of the crystal, how it shines and the blood droplets. Great framing, background texture and selective coloring. Excellent job, good luck in the contest.

This is awesome and can imagine it took ages - I wouldn't know where to start. Looks as though you have spilt paint on the flower. Excellent work.

A red rose represents love, and this one appears to be dripping out the red, rendering it a grey replica of what it once was. The love bleeding out of the affair. Excellent representation.

I don`t know what to think about this image. Seems to me to be rather morbid. Good composition, sharp glass wear. background looks like feathers . No thorns on the rose to cause bleeding. Interesting image.
