Wonderful picture of a whole different way of life. The use of color in their clothing is great and wonderful. The wood seems interesting. I wonder if it is sold her in the states.

Great notes on this traditional eastern cosmetic. The image is great with fine composition and beautiful colors. I like the cigar (or whatever they call it) and the way the wood is presented. Almost like cordwood for a fireplace. I wonder if this woman is as old as she looks.

Thank you for the great detail and history lesson! Great frame, color and light. I wonder what she has seen through those eyes. Great job!

What a photograph. She is old but still has to work hard by selling thanaka. But I understand she might need money more then others in her age. Well captured and framed.

like many Burmese women, she is smoking home-made cigar, never cigarettes

Great National Geographic quality picture. The detail, especially the cigarette convey a rich and compelling story--if not the exact details. Very nice job. Cheers, James.

Wow! A very interesting take to go along with your previous photo for the day. All of your photography points are perfect in this. But I especially like the story that you have captured without words. To me it is that smoking makes wrinkles! :D

What a great journalism shot. The picture is worth a thousand words. The lady looks like one tough cookie. The lesson on the cream is very interesting and gives insight to culture of Burma/Myanmar. The colorful clothing and the head scarf give me the impression that it might chilly. Great shot.

Very interesting notes! Equally interesting shot. Looks as though that she could use some Thanaka herself! Smoking cigars may not do any good for her , but she may look good in her deathbed!:) Thanks for sharing an interesting picture!

A super narrative to see how your pretty lady decorated her face. Like this view on the elderly woman. Wonderful frame, focus and exposure to show the clothing and a look of hard times on her face.
