You are right Willie, the little boy makes all the difference even if the sunset on its own is beautiful enough. The yellow sky is stunning with the golden glow near the horizon. The colors from the sky are also nicely reflected in the sea, and the boy is standing out in the most excellent way.
Your photo is also crisp and clear, and it is nice to see that the boy is not a complete silhouette. This is of course because the exposure is very good.
The photo is nicely cropped and I think the boy has got a good placement within the frame. This is a well balanced composition with a good flow. It is also a really well taken photo and with an excellent DOF. I wish you luck with the contest.

A nice silhouette of the boy against the setting sun in nice clear colours. The horizon is nice and level and the complete frame is well balanced. Good focus and nice detail.
