What an awesome drawing you have created and the subject of the drawing I can see it through AND THROUGH this drawing of yours. You have captured it throughout most perfectly. I admire your work. Thanks for the good luck wishes to those that still suffer from it....not necessarily WWI but even today with all that is going on overseas.
Thank you so much for sharing. I hope to see more of your work as I become more familiar with this sight,. I have been a member a little over one month. YOU DESERVE SIX STARS THEREFORE, I GIVE YOU SIX STARS. BRAVO BRAVO

War is so evil, yet necessary I suppose, has been since the beginning of time. Wonderful talent you have, in creating this Solider's pain and suffering in his face. Always had a interest in the history of wars and this represents a good story, I am sure.

Thanks marlak for the review. Indeed, it's a shame we have to live with war due to our frailties as humans. All the best R

You have captured your story perfectly. The play of light and shadow is very strong which helps with the chiseled and harrowed look of your soldier. It absolutely works. Great technique and point of view. Thanks for sharing.

Oh my goodness, this is fabulous. You have caught the right expression for sure, unfortunately. The use of shadows and light just superb. Composition is good. The wrinkles in his well worn jacket, the gaunt face from improper nutrition while in combat. Excellent. Thank you for sharing.

This is the kind of art that when you view it, you stop by it, and become rooted as emotions wash over you. It is high propane, uber shockingly good. Art moves people, this has moved me.

I absolutely love that I don't know who this man is and yet he encompasses all men. I cannot tell if his skin is white, or black, or Arabic, or Asian. He could be a Catholic a Buddhist, a Baptist a Jew a Jain or atheist. He is hurting, we can see that and that is all that matters. The pain of war.

Excellent, simply excellent.

Thanks for the generous review and the compliments. I am glad this made the impression I was after particularly regarding the ambiguity of race, creed, nationality etc. Have a pleasant sunday and thanks once again. R
