A beautiful picture of this King of the Cats with a far away look in his eyes as she surveys the horizon for Dinner on the Hoof...at least in the Safari Park he can dream! You depiction of the eyes are so lifelike I almost expect him to blink! Created with very skilful draftsmanship & brushwork with beautiful choice, blending & application of your colours to breath life into your picture that is three & not two dimensional

This is so beautiful. I can see all the intricate lines you have placed for your fur, and you have done a fantastic job. Fur is so hard to draw. Your eyes are penetrating. The colors you have chosen to use are vibrant.

At first the eyes, and mane bothered me. I did some research, something I often do, to discover, happily, that your rendition is spot on. I am glad you are safe. A lady photographer was killed by a lion on a sarari, she rolled down the window to get a better shot. How sad!. The eyes are wonderul. The face is well drawn. I hate "heart shaped" noses. This nose looks real. as does the mouth. An impressive piece of art. Thanks for sharing!

Many thanks for your very nice review. This was a walk round safari park and there is very high wire netting along the pathways where the lions and tigers are so quite safe, thankfully.

They are powerful, magnificent animals. What paper/board did you use?

Just some cheap 280gsm watercolour paper - don't really like it but needs must as I'd run out of the good stuff!
