Thanks for use of this photo; it makes ironic company for my satirical commentary on nationwide library closures ensuing from acts by a few librarian thugs. Cheers. LIZ

What I don't like....that large BERLIN volume grabs the eye and even with the blue accent, Berlin takes over the photo. I do like the original idea and the dof and the exposure is really nice. Nice even light. It is just that large, white volume in the foreground.

Thank you, I appreciate your kind review and you input. I have to admit I tricked you. Sorry, I apologize. Sometimes people deliberately break the rules and do other unusual things for a certain effect. Actually I wanted that the Berlin book jumps at the viewer because it?s the theme of my story which goes with the picture except for this contest. That is why I posted the Berlin book on the right vertical and all horizontals on the grid of the Rule of Thirds. Emphasizing the book with color would be too much and to obvious. The blue colors [there are more than one book] are there to emphasize the Berlin book further. It?s a trick of artistic license which is not in the teaching books, but this trick obviously works as intended. You reaction shows it. Thank you, and my apologies again.

Ok. I get it. EXplanation accepted. Think about this, (discussion, not review) If the large book had been placed on the far side of the The horizontal lines of the shelves would have drawn the eye past the blue book to "Berlin". I think that would have been a smoother transition. In any case, thanks for the explanation and good luck with you other endeavor.

Thank you, that is an interesting idea. I will think about it and try. I am not sure if it works because the blue might take over and catch all attention. I might change the pespective or the arrangements of the books in general.

It won't. Anyway it has been nice exchanging ideas with you. Good luck in the contest and keep up the good work.

I agree, nice exchanging ideas. That is actually or what I post. The discussion. If we are lucky we find and find someone with the same intentions and even get helpful reviews.

Nice shot. I totally get it good use of lighting the Berlin book is a good piece here. I would have loved to have seen it tilted. Nevertheless great camera work. The blue stands out.
