Very good example for the contest. Lots of textures here, focused, well composed, good story, a natural home town setting and the spots of color selected keep the eye moving round the frame. Nicely done!

Interesting look, interesting post work. The photo has a "I just pulled it out of drawer... this was taken 30 years ago" kind of look. Nice placement of color throughout the frame. Really well done composition, thanks for sharing. Good Luck.

What I like about this photo is the solitary person at the cafe because we all could use such an escape in the city ! However, I would not have known to focus on the cafe if the title did not include cafe. Great artwork with the mixture of black & whit and color because it brings the eye to focus on the cafe in a very rich busy place. I would have cropped the cafe closer to the for-front thus letting the busy stuff behind the the calm cafe.
Best Wishes,
Lynn

Very nice photography and B&W theme. I really like the objects you chose to color. Love the sign, flags, green leaves and the pots and window box. People blend in with the trees nice technique. Very nice job and good luck.

I have also converted images to b-w and then used color selectively. From my perspective, it results in interesting and unusual images. I like what you've done here...it's an interesting street scene. Leaving the garbage can helps fill the foreground. Technically, you're on target.

Thank you. That garbage can was one of those designer things placed by the city to reflect the updating of the main street. Also, this was my first attempt at this technique and a lot of trial and error here.

The street scene you show in your black and white picture somehow looks like being from another time frame - the coloring choices are fantastic as you point out the present time so your work shows the street "then and now" loll - excellent frame choice - super creative approach to the contest topic - I love the peaceful ambiance and are wondering if your took the people out or if you just had the perfect moment - well done, thanks for sahring

The detail is very good. The black and white adds a nice depth and is quite forgiving. The selective colorization is well done. The sharpened foreground is nicely done. Good luck with the contest.

I love how most of the picture is black and white, but the cafe is vibrantly colored. This really draws the viewers eye, but still allows them to take in the entire picture. Great job.

I like this very much. It is an excellent entry for the contest. Your camera techs are great as are you editing choices. Nothing is overdone. The B&W is excellent and the color pops are perfectly chosen as far as my taste goes. Good luck in the contest! Very artistic composition.
