Eventually back to reviewing after a very long holiday in Greece. First of all, congratulations for winning this contest about hands. Not difficult at all to understand why, because it is a very strong image. I think it is the first time I have seen such a close and personal approach to the Crucifixion, and I like your idea about depicting the contrast between cruelty and love.
Of course this is also an excellent drawing as always. You are a true master with your pencil and as all your another work, you have again paid good attention to details. I especially like the lighting in this drawing and the very good and strong contrasts between light and dark.
It is absolutely nothing wrong with the composition either. It is a very good flow in it and a very good balance between positive and negative space. Well done Linda.

I am not a traditional artist but I do appreciate good art. I review traditional art
as a spectator would at an art show, art fair etc. I have only one question in mind
when I view a work and that is would it have a place on one of the walls in my
home. This is an excellent piece of traditional art and I would be happy to place it
on one of my walls.Best of Luck in the contest.
Thanks for sharing it~

What a powerful drawing depicting such emotional thought provoking event in history of many religions and in the world of Christianity. The drawing is exceptional. It is perfect for this contest as well as for any contest that asks for two different feelings or complete opposites or love/hate or dominance/submissive or cruel/kind or hating/forgiving...I could go on an on. Looking at your drawing gives me the urge to go open my bible and read a little a couple chapters. Looking at your drawing makes me want to clasp my hands together, get down on my knees and pray to our Lord and Saviour. Looking at your drawing reminds me of what He has done for all of us here on earth and that He forgives us of our sins continually; that he walked on earth and was mistreated by us and brought to death by our hands yet He did rise again and He does forgive us. This drawing grabs my attention because it is ever so powerful.
You did an exceptional job. I commend you most highly.
Thank you so much for sharing.
It humbles me and saddens me both at the same time.
It brings emotions to the forefront.
It is thought provocative.
It is perfect.
Pencil was the perfect median. Because it WAS, simply put, black and white. No color necessary.

Oh, My friend, Linda, you transported me to the cross! It put me in remembrance of Mel Gibson who's hand portrayed that of Jesus instead of the actor Jim Caviezel. In Scripture he took our place and the cost was so enormous.
"I am crucified with Christ. Nevertheless, I live. Yet, not I, but Christ lives in me, and the life that I now live I live by faith in Christ who loved me and gave himself for me."
What a Savior!
What an artist!
What an honor to know you!

An another amazing piece! Outstanding POV combined with masterful skills results in a work of a superior caliber. The light and shadow amazing detail and of course a depiction of great Import almost dare the viewer to look away, yet simultaneously drawing the viewer to experience the full impact of this beautiful work. Thank You

A very emotive and provoking image this. Really well drawn with great details from the shading. Very realistic feel to the image. The story is very powerful (and I am sure we can all understand it)
