Thank you so much for the very kind review and the thoughtful cyber 6. I really appreciate it. It seems my best work is done on the spur of the moment. The work I sit and plan always seems to be lacking in something almost as though what's in my head just doesn't quite transfer to the camera. :)

Thank you very much Sange. I took this out on my front porch. I fell and have a very serious knee injury so I have been unable to go out of the house any farther than that because I am on crutches and in a full leg splint. So, I have to come up with ideas that I can do in the house. I may even have to remove myself from some contests because I can't get around. Ohh well. I do some reviews :)

Thank you. A corn broom was commonly used up until the advent of plastics. It is made from corn stalks that have been dried and cut into strips.

This is quite an original still life, and I especially like the limited color pallet. I also the Topaz filters have worked wonders when it comes to bringing out all the fine textures. The still life is also tastefully set up.
Your photo is of course also nice and sharp and it is for sure clear and well defined details to be seen. Also the exposure is perfect.
I think the cropping is working well, and both the broom and the boots have got a fine placement within the frame. A truly great looking and well taken still life with a very good DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

That's very nice, I love the way you arranged all the elements and balanced your composition. Amazing clarity with a touch of HDR. I like the way you connected all those different patterns; the still life itself seems simple, but you've placed it against the brick wall and wooden (?) floor, which gave you so many different leading lines occupying the eye of the viewer. The dominance of yellow-ish tones gives you a pleasantly warm, homely atmosphere, but I think I'd still add a bit of blue to neutralize the temperature. Best of luck in the contest! :)
