it is a superb drawing however, I do get a little upset by this kind of showing of children's abuse, I was a child alone, a refugee from one years old, a displaced person and then raped as a small child, in children's homes etc however we do not look like that on the whole, this is a natural disaster look, not a war games child victim look- but it is what people look for in a victim-but it is a superb drawing

It's like choosing between the devil & the deep blue sea, Raoul!
Can I choose the latter?
At least I'll still be alive...
An impressive artwork rendition. Muted color creation with excellent strokes & textures. Good compositional style. Great overall impact! Thanks for sharing...

Thanks Dick. Excellent analogy. I like to think it's a choice between Scylla and Charybdis myself :)

This is such a moving artwork without reading your text and the text adds to the emotion. You have captured the fear, sorrow and adversity in the eyes on the dirt strewn face. Awesome work Raoul. :) Mary

This work is so powerful in combination to your poem. The eyes that stare out into nothingness and the numbness of the trauma is captured so well. Very nicely done.

A heart-stopping & emotional picture of this young boy fear written all over his face, terror in his eyes that plead for help & kindness. Beautiful composition, very skilful draftsmanship artistic choice, blending & application of your colours.

Great, artistic, and emotive image. I love the muted colors used. You show the sadness and bewilderment in the child's facial expression. The eyes convey a vacant stare that has probably seen images no child should see, childhood stolen. I see the blanket as possibly the child's only possession for warmth. The accompanying poem is excellent and to me puts things in perspective. Fantastic work..very well done. ~Alveria
